THE GOOD WAR and those who REFUSED TO FIGHT IT is a one hour documentary
directed by Judith Ehrlich and Rick Tejada-Flores, and narrated by Ed Asner.

The Panel will include local WWII Conscientious Objectors discussing how
their courage applies to today's world events.
THE GOOD WAR and those who refused to fight it is the dramatic story of
the conscientious objectors (COs) who refused to fight in World War II.
As noncombatant medics under fire, medical guinea pigs, fire fighters,
attendants in mental institutions and workers in Civilian Public Service
camps, 37,000 COs performed alternative service during the war. Seven
thousand war resisters spent those years in prison and used hunger
strikes to racially integrate the federal prison system. Their
experiences prepared a generation of nonviolent activists to change
American society in ways that we are only now beginning to appreciate.
